Slush: Empowering the Next Generation of Innovators
While Slush is best known for its flagship annual event in Helsinki, its mission goes far beyond a single gathering. At its core, Slush was set up to inspire and empower young people to pursue careers in technology and entrepreneurship. It’s designed to be a human accelerator—a place where ambitious students and recent graduates take their first steps into the startup world, whether they go on to become founders, operators, or investors.
Slush is owned by the Startup Foundation, a Finnish not-for-profit dedicated to strengthening local startup ecosystems. Most of Slush’s profits are reinvested back into the foundation to fund new initiatives that nurture entrepreneurship and innovation.
Driving Innovation Forward: The Role of the Cyprus Research and Innovation Foundation
The Cyprus Research and Innovation Foundation (RIF) stands at the heart of Cyprus’s innovation ecosystem. Since its establishment in 1996, RIF has been the national authority championing research, technological development, and innovation across the island.
As a non-profit organization, RIF provides funding through competitive grants, helps Cypriot researchers connect with international programs, and supports businesses in adopting new technologies and driving innovation.
